Karoline Leavitt to join Trump's MAGA Inc. super PAC after leaving White House

Karoline Leavitt, who is stepping down as White House press secretary at the end of August, told reporters Friday that she is returning to work for Trump's super PAC, MAGA Inc. — the organization she served as spokesperson before joining the Trump campaign.

Leavitt confirmed the move aboard Air Force One, saying a trip to Myrtle Beach for a campaign rally would be her last as press secretary. “You guys will still see me all the time,” she told reporters, and indicated she would join Trump for the Republican Convention in September. President Trump said in a statement this week that Leavitt “will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party.” Politico reported last month that MAGA Inc.'s war chest stood at $350 million, according to Deadline.

Announcing her departure, Leavitt cited the demands of the job after returning from maternity leave: “Since returning to the White House after the birth of my daughter, I have felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mom my two young children deserve while devoting the constant time, energy, and attention required of the White House Press Secretary — and that is why I have ultimately made the bittersweet decision to depart.”

No successor has been named. During her maternity leave, Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent led briefings.
